When animals get hurt, they hide. Maybe because they don’t know what to do with the pain. Sometimes people are like that too. Especially the strong ones. You are not allowed to say you are sick. You have to be the strong one. Now there is no time to sit down and we just carry on.

But that’s not the right way to do it.

When you’re in trouble, whether it’s your finances, your health, or your relationships, no matter what, raise your hand. Go to God. On the throne, or as the Bible calls it, a throne of grace, we can get help.

It will be difficult to accept help if we do not open our hands. Therefore, if we want to receive, we must kneel before the throne of grace and pray. This is where we will receive grace and help. It is promised: 16Let us therefore go confidently to the throne of grace, so that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help us in times of need. (King James Version)

God provides relief. He will help us; That’s what he does. But there seems to be a condition on time: help comes at the right time. Help always comes at the right time, even if it doesn’t feel like it to us.

If we have a problem, we want it to be fixed immediately. How many times have I lost it because the solution to my problem hasn’t knocked on the door yet? I begin to get impatient and uneasy. I start asking questions, usually I end my tirade with, “Sir, are you still listening?”

The problem is that our timing and God’s timing are not always aligned. We don’t have the helicopter view. God has. Most of the time we cannot see the corners of life. God can. We don’t always have the wisdom to wait for the hourglass to empty, for difficulties to have an impact, and for us to move on. God does it.

It’s not easy, but sometimes we just have to sit and trust, and wait and know, hold on to God and hear the knock on the door offering help. Yes, it is not as fast as Uber Eats. But it’s coming, just wait and see! Help comes at the right time.

Just remember, the help that comes does not depend on what you do or do not do. Yes, I have to raise my hand. I have to leave my bag of difficulties on the throne of God. I must get on my knees and decompress everything in prayer, over and over again. But that’s where my responsibility ends.

The rest is God’s doing. God gives us the solution by grace, which means that it is free. Will appear. He will give relief. Help will come, because that’s what God does.

Therefore, we also have to ask for wisdom to wait until the time is right to receive the right help regarding my challenge.

Reflection

What challenges do you face?

Have you already brought them to the throne?

You can wait?

Pray

Father, thank you for promising that help will come. Please give me the wisdom to wait for the right moment. In the name of Jesus, amen.
