This is the era of powerful and faster smartphones. Yes, 2012 is the time for smartphones with Quad-Core processors. Instead, I will talk about two of the latest and most powerful smartphones of this year. I will compare the upcoming Huawei Ascend D Quad XL and the newly launched Samsung Galaxy S3. Keep reading!

Let’s start with the screens on these phones. I’ll start with the screen of the Huawei Ascend D Quad XL. It includes a 4.5 “IPS + LCD touch screen with a screen resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels and a pixel density of 326 ppi. On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy S3 includes a 4.8” Super AMOLED touch screen. with a screen resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels and pixel density of 306 ppi. When it comes to screen size, the Galaxy S3 is the winner. They may have the same screen resolution, but the Ascend D Quad XL’s pixel density is higher. So for that part, a good point goes to Huawei.

Now let’s talk about your prowess in processing. I will start with Huawei again. It includes a quad-core processor that runs at a speed of 1.5 GHz. You should also note that this phone uses Huawei’s own chipset, the K3V2. When it comes to onboard memory, this phone includes an 8GB ROM and a 1GB RAM backup. You can also add up to 32GB of memory through the phone’s microSD card slot. On the other side of the table, Samsung packed its phone with the same quad-core processor, but it only runs at 1.4GHz. Samsung used the Exynos 4212 Quad chipset for this phone. When it comes to its onboard memory, this phone comes in 3 variants (16, 32 and 64 GB of storage space) and has a backup of 1 GB of RAM. You can also add up to 64GB of memory on this phone through its microSD card slot. They both have the same quad-core processor, but one of them runs faster than the other. When it comes to memory space, it’s pretty obvious that the Galaxy S3 offers more than the Ascend D Quad XL. They both get one point each.

Now let’s move on to the cameras. Huawei packed its phone with an 8MP shutter with a resolution of 3264 x 2448 pixels and it can record video at 1080 pixels at 30 frames per second (fps). It also comes with a 1.3MP (720p) front camera. On the other hand, Samsung packed its phone with an 8MP shutter with a resolution of 3264 x 2448 pixels. It can also record videos at 1080 pixels and 30 frames per second (fps). But this time, it comes with a 1.9MP (720p) front camera. They both have the same 8MP shutters, the only difference is that the Galaxy S3 ships with a taller front camera.

Last but not least, let’s talk about your operating systems. Both phones come pre-installed with the latest iteration of Android, Ice Cream Sandwich. So both of them are big winners in this area only.

This is my brief comparison note on the Huawei Ascend D Quad XL and the Samsung Galaxy S3.
